He began his screen career as a writer and lyricist, contributing to films such as *Nenu Meeku Telusa...?* (2008) and writing and directing the romantic comedy *Second Hand* (2013), following his feature directorial debut with the Tamil comedy-drama *Pillayar Theru Kadaisi Veedu* (2011).
