Lyrics
Find another songEveryone's an actor on their days off
Everybody's smiling in their new headshots
And they start to feel like friends in their glossy 8x10s
Angels staring down at the restaurant
You're still living on my mind
But you never pay your rent on time
I was cast out of the dream
Written out of your scene
Waiting for you to feed me the line
I know the stars are for show
And they burn out slow
I'll wait for the gate to come down
And the curtain to close
Everyone's a child star or a leading man
Everyone's a singer in a band
And it never felt right
Playing against type
Baby, I just want to hold your hand
I know the stars are for show
And they burn out slow
I'll wait for the gate to come down
And the curtain to close
