Cleansing Flame

[verse] How you fell You were in comforted sleep Dead and entombed in the deep Mistakenly called to rise from hell Led just to find it again I'll be your requited end Shed like the severing skin and flesh Step forth a martyring pyre A blight corrected by fire When there is no way to Pass the test You had the judgement and lost Now I'm collecting the cost So you may rest [chorus] In my hands Your bones reborn In cleansing flame Are purified When the cinders crack They cross the great divide When you tread into The shadow of A past untold, unlearned Do you feel it piercing in your blood as it burns [verse] Who could judge There's none more faithful than I Shielded from mimicry's lies Against the heart that I hold no grudge Writhing the firstborn of flame The progeny hid in shame Shadowed and left by a mother's love Infallible and so pure Cursed by the rats beneath her Held by a fate you've no inkling of The beast must consume the prey No hope of getting away No shield's enough [chorus] In my hands Your bones reborn In cleansing flame Are purified When the cinders crack They cross the great divide When you tread into The shadow of A past untold, unlearned Do you feel it piercing in your blood as it burns [bridge] Eye for an eye Lie for a lie You can't convince me To render aside My poisoned bite Cease your deception that One such as you Could stand out the few To rewrite the story she's Written in truth Somber and soothed No room for changes in Such vile affairs Crude and unfair Thrown by divinity Into exile Traveling miles Only to fall to my True sacrifice Bereft of light Preyed and enticed Now you'll be the fuel for cleansing flame [chorus] In my hands Your bones reborn In cleansing flame Are purified When the cinders crack They cross the great divide When you tread into The shadow of A past untold, unlearned Do you feel it piercing in your blood as it burns
