Perfect

This one's for the misfits The outcasts The ones they never understood The ones they tried to break But couldn't This one's for the kid in the back of the room Trying not to cry while they all point and laugh For the girl they called ugly For the boy they called weird For the ones who carried pain nobody ever asked This one's for the ones who didn't fit in With the pretty little cliques and the fake little smiles The ones they stepped on just to stand taller Like hurting somebody made them worth more somehow For the ones with a story written on their skin For the ones with a mind that don't work like theirs For the ones with disabilities they can't see past Like your heart ain't gold just because life ain't fair But listen to me now You were never the problem They were just too small To see all that you are You are perfect just the way you are Every scar, every flaw, every broken part You were born to shine like a midnight star Don't let this cold world tell you who you are You are enough, you are loved You are more than what they said you was Misfit, outcast, beautiful heart You are perfect just the way you are This one's for the ones who chose a different road And got judged because they didn't follow the crowd For the dreamers, the fighters, the black sheep survivors Who kept getting up when life kept knocking them down They made you feel small cause you didn't look like them Talk like them, walk like them, act like them too But baby, being different ain't a weakness It just means God took His time making you They don't get your fire They don't get your pain They don't get the way you turned hurt into strength They don't get your heart They don't get your soul But they don't have to understand for you to know You were never too much You were never not enough You were never hard to love They just didn't know real love You are perfect just the way you are Every scar, every flaw, every broken part You were born to shine like a midnight star Don't let this cold world tell you who you are You are enough, you are loved You are more than what they said you was Misfit, outcast, beautiful heart You are perfect just the way you are To the ones they bullied To the ones they blamed To the ones they laughed at To the ones they shamed To the ones with quiet battles Nobody ever sees To the ones who kept on breathing When it hurt too much to breathe You matter You're worthy You're not broken You're not dirty You're not a mistake You're not too far gone You're the reason somebody else Is gonna hold on You are perfect just the way you are Every scar, every flaw, every broken part You were born to shine like a midnight star Don't let this cold world tell you who you are You are enough, you are loved You are more than what they said you was Misfit, outcast, beautiful heart You are perfect just the way you are So here's to the misfits The ones who survived The ones they counted out But God kept alive Don't you dare dim your light Don't you hide those scars You are loved You are enough You are perfect just the way you are
