Lyrics
Find another songThere was a light, but it grew dark
Such a sorry sight to see it won't even spark
And there was a flight, but it stayed parked
And never left the tarmac, you see
It stayed safe and sound in the port
Another plane of existence is delayed, and I missed it
Another day I sit in silence
I'm trapped at home with endless mileage
And there was a match, it knew it can't win
So it striked itself out to be free
And choked on the oxygen
And there was a pilot who knew he was done
Soared through the air and the sea
Never heard from again by anyone
Another plane of existence is delayed, and I missed it
Another day I sit in silence
I'm trapped at home with endless mileage
So I sing along, la, la, la, la, la
To the hum of the furnace
It's playing my song
But it just won't kick on, it won't ignite
It must be nice to have a working pilot light
Pilot light
And there was a bulb, but it burnt out
The gears froze up, and it got cold
It couldn't save itself
And then there's me, I sleep so light, I think
I told all my secrets to my shrink
And the whispers to the lampshade before I pull the string
So I sing along, la, la, la, la, la
To the hum of the furnace
It's playing my song
But it just won't kick on, it won't ignite
It must be nice to have a working pilot light
Pilot light
Pilot light
Pilot light
